Research notes, manuscripts of books and articles, school essays, printed materials and teacher's grade and record books documenting Warren and Addie Upham's work in gathering geographical, geological, and historical information on Minnesota and the United States. Warren Upham, secretary (1895-1932) of the Minnesota Historical Society, was born in Amherst, Massachusetts in 1850. He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1871, and until 1895 he was engaged in civil engineering projects, railroad surveys, and United States geological surveys in New Hampshire. He married Addie Minerva Bixby in 1885.
